A Long Island-based nonprofit organization is looking to boost their staff at one of their group homes in Suffolk County with the addition of a new, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
About the Opportunity :
Assignment Length : Ongoing
Shift : 5am - 9 am
Schedule : Mon-Thurs
Setting : Group Home
Patient Population : Medically underserved
Responsibilities : The LPN will :
Administer Medications
Assess medication records monthly to ensure consumers are receiving prescribed medication and that documentation of it is occurring in a timely manner
Assist consumers in achieving self-medication administration as indicated
Provides24-hour emergency on-call coverage for assigned programs, as required
Assist and participate in the admission screening process, as necessary
Ensure that consumers are living in a safe and hygienic manner; provide resources for infection control
Develop and provide in-services for staff, as needed
Ensure that appropriate amounts of medication and supplies are available
Dispense medications and provide hands-on medical treatment, as needed
Coordinate and arrange admission and discharge and staff coverage along with the Residential Manager
Review doctor visits and doctor's orders in a timely manner
