A community services organization in New York City is actively seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their Pediatric team in Manhattan.
About the Opportunity :
Start Date : ASAP
Assignment Length : Ongoing
Schedule : Monday to Friday (1 Saturday per month)
Hours : 8am to 6pm (Mon & Wed); 8am to 5pm (Tues, Thurs & Fri); 8am to 4pm (Sat)
Call : None
Patient Population : Pediatric Underserved
Patient Volume : 20 to 24 per day
EMR : eClinicalWorks (ECW) Responsibilities :
The Pediatric LPN will :
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' condition
Record patients' medical information and vital signs
Monitor inventory of medications and immunizations
Order medications and immunizations as needed
Evaluate and monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity
Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations and treatments
Educate individuals, families and other groups on topics such as their health conditions, disease prevention, proper medication use, and develop health improvement programs
Ensure that stock of clinical supplies is maintained
Provide healthcare, first aid, immunizations and other nursing services
Enter patient's data into the medical records
Administer drugs, immunizations, medical devices or other forms of treatment
Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
ACLS and CPR certifications
Pediatric background
Previous experience in an Outpatient role / setting Desired Skills :
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience in an Ambulatory Care, Medical-Surgical, Primary Care, and / or Women's Health
Experience working with indigent or medically underserved populations
