A recognized health services organization in the Capital Region is currently seeking an experienced, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their staff in Albany as their new House Supervisor for the Weekends.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: Nights
- Schedule: Saturday & Sunday (rotated)
- Hours: 7am to 7pm
- Setting: Skilled Nursing Facility
- Patient Population: Pediatric
Responsibilities:
- Respond to all resident emergent events and assures care is provided in an appropriate, timely manner
- Supervise the nursing care of the residents provided by CCTs, CNAs, LPNs and other RNs who are working during assigned shift
- Make independent decisions regarding nursing care based on sound principles of nursing practice
- Independently manage all staffing issues during time of duty, in compliance with facility policy and chain of command
- Make rounds to all resident units at least twice a shift
- Ensure environmental and infection control standards are maintained
- Provide follow-up documentation regarding investigation and plan of action as necessary
- Actively participate in the Quality Improvement process through the completion of staff audits
- Conduct fire drills per facility policy and as directed by Nursing administration; complete required documentation
- Ensure compliance to facility Infection Control policies; initiate precautions as necessary and completes associated staff audits
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 3 years of Nursing experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience in Nursing Management
- Experience working with individual with Neurological Impairments and Medical Fragility
- Knowledge of Long Term Care regulations
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
