A nonprofit organization in New Jersey is currently seeking an experienced Accountant for a great Senior-level opportunity with their growing Finance team.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: 4 to 12 weeks (reconfirming expected length)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (2 days onsite; 3 days WFH)
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (40-hours per week)
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and/or review appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations
- Prepare and/or review journal entries
- Monitor and review financial transactions in the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and analyze components of the monthly financial reporting package
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls to be more efficient and effective; support the documentation and implementation of new accounting policies/procedures
- Play a key role in the annual audit process
- Ensure all accounting tasks are performed correctly, according to GAAP and company policy.
- Assist with the general accounting functions of the organization
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position
Qualifications:
- 2 years of Accounting experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP
- Experience preparing and analyzing Financial Statements & Reports
- Knowledge of relevant Federal, State, & Local laws, codes, and regulations related to financial accounting
- Working knowledge of Accounting and Financial platforms
- Microsoft Excel proficient
- Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- CPA
- Public Accounting and/or Nonprofit background
- Working knowledge of CERES, Concur, and/or Salesforce
Salary : $40 - $45
