A financial services organization in Connecticut is actively seeking an experienced and team-oriented professional to join their staff as a Management Company Accountant / Assistant Controller. In this role, the Management Company Accountant / Assistant Controller will be responsible for maintaining the books and records for numerous firm and partner entities, including daily cash review, monthly closes and the calculation of capital allocations.
Responsibilities
The Management Company Accountant will be responsible for :
Maintaining the books and records for numerous firm and partner entities
Monitoring deal flow to understand upcoming liquidity needs for PTVs
Preparing capital calls and distributions for responsible entities
Working with IT Dev group to utilize in-house developed capital allocation software
Preparing monthly portfolio reporting for PTVs
Understanding complex entity structures and organizational charts
Providing the Tax Department with quarterly and annual reporting for tax compliance Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
5-8 years' experience at a public accounting firm in their financial services business, or direct experience at an asset management firm or fund administrator
Excellent Excel skills, technically savvy and strong analytical skills
Outstanding attention to detail and committed to process and related improvements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong project management skills
Flexible, quick learner with the ability to multi-task
Strong team contributor with proactive approach to deliver results Desired skills
CPA and / or CFA
