A recognized retail organization in New Jersey is currently seeking an experienced POS Project Manager to join their growing team. This Project Manager will lead a high-profile initiative aimed at implementing bilingual functionality across all Point of Sale (POS) endpoints, including receipts. This critical project involves working with multiple business lines (Duty Paid, Duty Free, and Food & Beverage) and collaborating with several implementation partners. As the Project Manager, you will manage complex, cross-functional teams composed of both IT and business stakeholders, ensuring seamless execution of the project and delivering results within the designated timeframe.
This full-time, immediate start role requires a strong project manager who is comfortable managing executive-level stakeholders, possesses exceptional organizational skills, and excels in detailed project execution. You will be responsible for ensuring the project is executed on time, on budget, and in alignment with key business objectives.
***This is a Hybrid opportunity, requiring the qualified professional to work on-site at the company's East Rutherford, New Jersey office 1-2 days per week.***
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Delivery Manager, Product Manager, and Solution Architect to ensure project scope and objectives are clearly defined and strictly enforced, particularly in implementing bilingual functionality across POS systems.
- Lead and facilitate project ceremonies such as sprint planning, status meetings, and review sessions, ensuring alignment across IT and business teams.
- Manage the project plan end-to-end, ensuring it includes detailed timelines, task assignments, and progress tracking. Update the plan continuously to reflect real-time project status.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for executive-level stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or risks that may arise.
- Create and provide project status reports and artifacts required by leadership and oversight teams, ensuring transparency in the project's progress and any adjustments made.
- Lead cross-functional teams from three lines of business (Duty Paid, Duty Free, and Food & Beverage) to ensure alignment and successful collaboration across multiple business units.
- Manage relationships with external implementation partners, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and quality standards are met.
- Track project performance, monitor risks, and ensure that critical milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
- Ensure the project stays within the defined budget, proactively managing and adjusting project constraints to meet financial objectives.
- Create and maintain essential project management artifacts such as RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies), RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed), and meeting minutes, as well as any other documentation as directed by the Delivery Manager.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project team members, fostering a collaborative and positive environment across both technical and business teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong Project Management experience, with a proven track record of successfully managing POS system implementations and bilingual functionality projects.
- Extensive experience in customer-facing technical solutions, especially in retail POS environments.
- At least 3 years of experience in POS and Payments systems, with a deep understanding of both the technical and operational requirements of these systems.
- Retail experience is required, especially in managing POS projects across multiple lines of business (Duty Paid, Duty Free, Food & Beverage).
- Proven ability to manage executive-level stakeholders, providing strategic insights and aligning business objectives with technical project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, including IT and business stakeholders, to drive successful project outcomes.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to engage at various levels and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
