A recognized entertainment organization has an opening for NOC Technician. This role is responsible for monitoring and ensuring high-quality signal distribution across multiple channels. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced broadcast environment.
This is onsite temporary role offering 16-20 hours p/week.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor outgoing and incoming signals to ensure high-quality transmission.
- Verify local commercial insertion triggers and Nielsen SID distribution.
- Perform routine system checks, including:
- Analyzing alarm statuses, bandwidth, and device health across over 75 encoders.
- Confirming proper functionality of mirror and disaster recovery systems.
- Checking satellite receiver signal quality and Mediaproxy recording systems.
- Verifying encrypted message transmission.
- Monitoring Crystal Control for accurate transmission paths.
- Schedule and manage downlink requests from the home office.
- Program and operate live blackouts and service replacements as needed.
- Handle affiliate engineering support calls and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Conduct routine inspections of encoding equipment.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of experience in transmission, broadcast operations, or a related field.
- High School Diploma or GED (College degree in broadcasting technology or related discipline preferred).
- Strong understanding of signal flow within a broadcast facility.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple issues simultaneously.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with encoding platforms like Synamedia and CommScope.
- Familiarity with broadcast equipment (routers, analyzers, receivers, encoders).
- Knowledge of industry-standard monitoring and control systems.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
