The Role: Administer policies relating to all phases of human resources/safety activity by performing the following duties.
Location(s): Salinas, CA; Hollister, CA; Oxnard, CA; Huron, CA; Yuma, CA
Areas of Responsibility:
- Assists with employee relations and investigations, policy administration, and keeps current with applicable employment laws.
- Conducts labor recruitment including; internal job postings and external advertisements with newspapers, social media, governmental employment agencies, and H-2A recruitments as required.
- Assists in Maintaining Human Resource Information System records.
- Provides and coordinates training for new and returning employees in Employee Handbook (Company policies and Procedures), T&A University including basics on labor law, duties as a foreperson and product issues, and any other training as required. Interacts effectively with management.
- Investigate and attempt to resolve employee complaints, concerns, or suggestions. Prepares investigative reports as required.
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and helps ensure that policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Assists management in the enforcement of company rules and policies.
- Advises management on appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- May be required to prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Coordinates with management for any outside agency that visits our worksites such as the U.S. Department of Labor, state unemployment departments, OSHA inspectors, county inspectors, etc.
- Provides follow-up guidance on authorized leaves (family medical leave, leaves of absence, military leave, holidays, bereavement, etc.).
- Maintains the highest standards of confidentiality.
- Possesses good communication and presentation skills in both English and Spanish. Familiarity with PowerPoint presentation preferred.
- Works on-call after hours, or on weekends as required.
- Must be willing to relocate to our different growing/harvesting areas for an extended period of time as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Have English/Spanish speaking, reading, and writing skills a must.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. The ability to maintain confidentiality.
Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
