Position: Security Manager
Job Description: Security Department, TAO Group Hospitality (TAO Group) (TGH) (Herein refers to all TAO Group Hospitality, and Hakkasan Group Hospitality Nightclubs, Dayclubs, Restaurants, offices, facilities, employees, and contractors.
Scope: New York, NY
Security (Herein refers to the integrated Security Department, to include Threat Management, Risk Management, and Compliance)
Reports to: Security Director
Position Overview: The Security Manager is responsible for the short-term planning and operational proficiency of daily security and venue operations. This position will oversee the Security within their home venue, developing their direct reports’ leadership, and technical knowledge in supporting the growth of the company. Administrative duties include, however are not limited to drafting weekly floor plans and staff schedules, utilizing corporate models; and reporting weekly labor cost to the Security Director and Venue GM. This position will work closely with the other TAO Group Leaders to help provide a safe, secure, and friendly environment, while ensuring the highest-level customer service experience for all visitors, venders, and TAO Group employees. This position will report to the Director of Security.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, secure, and friendly environment with world class customer service to visitors, vendors, and employees at all TAO Group Properties.
- Analyze and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
- Create or implement venue security standards, policies, and procedures.
- Complete Security schedules, floor plans, event plans, staffing levels and event timelines in accordance with TAO Group Corporate model that account for dynamic operational challenges, making effective use of resources.
- Supervise the human resources in security in order to attract, retain, and motivate the employees; hire, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance reviews, resolve problems, provide open communications and discipline and terminate, as appropriate.
- Ensure departmental supplies and equipment are properly cared for and maintained, evaluate and justify equipment and supply needs and purchases.
- Report on inventory numbers on a cadence determined by Senior Security Leadership, for Security Controllable and Hardware.
- Oversee inventory control models and immediately address and document failure from staff or Supervisors who fail to adhere inventory controls.
- Ensure proper and safe storage of Security Controllable and supplies, to prevent damage.
- Investigating observations of damage to Security hardware or equipment, and reporting conclusions to Senior Security Leadership in a timely manner.
- Recommends, implements, and monitors the budget and manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
- Ensures all guest queries and complaints are handled in an efficient manner.
- Evaluate incidents and determine proper course of action, while ensuring proper documentation is done through incident reports.
- Assist in emergency management and contingency planning.
- Conduct physical examinations of property to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
- Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols.
- Conduct regular operational meetings to review, monitor, adjust and upgrade the performance of the Department as a whole, explaining new directions and policies and procedures at the same time
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops.
- Consistently practice and maintain the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with fellow team members, management, owners, members and prospects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Venue GM and Director of Security.
- May assume responsibilities of the Director of Security in his/her absence.
Skills and Specifications:
- A working knowledge of all state, federal, and liquor laws/regulations, in regard to security operations
- Management principles, practices, and techniques.
- Budget preparation bid and purchasing procedures, and expense control.
- Knowledge of computer software: Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written and communications skills.
- Sitting, walking, bending, climbing stairs, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to Company standards
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Security, Criminal Justice, Hospitality or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years supervisory or management experience in Hotel/Nightclub/Event Security
- Ability to train and manage cross functional teams while building internal/external relationships.
- Ability to hold team accountable for outcomes and monitor performance.
- Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring and developing staff to perform at high levels.
- Strong interpersonal/customer service skills with excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Self-Starter Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while managing multiple tasks.
- A valid New York Security License
- Must be 21 years of age or older to apply
