Tapley Cabinet Works, Inc. is a family-owned and operated, high-end custom woodworking company, specializing in custom cabinets. Tapley has been in business since 1946 and has a long history of quality excellence. We have a full-time position open immediately for an experienced full-time journeyman cabinet maker position.
Applicants for this position should have woodworking experience and be reliable, hard-working, and positive individuals.
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced individual to build custom built-in and freestanding cabinets and furniture.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Run a small team.
· Organize cut lists.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Builds project accurately and within time and budget specifications.
· Uses saws, power tools, sanders, hand tools, wood glue, dowels, screws, and other tools and fasteners to complete the project.
· Cuts, shapes, and prepares the surfaces of wood and constructs complete project.
· Attaches specified door pulls and hardware and hangs cabinet doors on frames.
· Repairs or refinishes wood furniture or cabinets for customers.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Must have a valid drivers license.
· Excellent verbal communication skills.
· Excellent listening skills.
· Ability to appropriately measure and skillfully build.
· Very good math and spatial skills.
· Thorough understanding of and ability to operate complex and basic tools.
· Extremely accurate and detail-oriented.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Custom Woodworking experience required.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift and carry loads of wood and tools as needed to complete jobs.
· Prolonged periods standing and building.
· Must be able to bend, squat, reach, stretch, and move in order to take accurate and appropriate measurements.
· Visual acuity necessary to measure and assemble furniture and to read plans.

Hours of Work: Tapley operates a flex schedule and desired 40 hour work week schedule will be mutually agreed upon by employee and supervisor.
