Banquet Server/Bartender

The Catering Server or Bartender will provide excellent customer service to all guests at Tappo Venues events in a timely manner and with a positive attitude. Catering Bartenders will also be asked to preform serving duties if necessary, typically during dinner when the bar is closed. We prefer to cross-train our employees to have the ability to both serve and bartend when needs arise.

We are located at multiple venues including but not limited to:

• The Buffalo History Museum
• Hotel at the Lafayette: Greenhouse Room, Courtyard Room, Marquis Ballroom, Crystal Room, AAA Room

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

• Provide excellent service to all guests
• Knowledge of the menu, appetizers and alcohol
• Setup of tables, chairs, linen, China, silverware and glassware; clean and polish silverware / glassware
• Clear and clean all tables, work areas, dining room or other areas utilized according to proper procedures; return all equipment to proper location
• Carry heavy trays of food from the kitchen to the dining area
• Perform all necessary side work as directed at the beginning and end of shift
• Assist bartender when need arises
• Maintain exemplary food handling and safety and operation practices

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Experience with serving prepared food to customers preferred
• Direct customer service experience
• Ability to work various shifts including nights/weekends
• Weekends are the busiest times of the week. We may also have events on weekdays throughout the season
• Bartending experience preferred for the bartender position
• Able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs

COMPENSATION

Cash tips and gratuity are split amongst all FOH staff working the event. Bartenders and Servers make an hourly wage of an average $18/hour plus gratuity and cash tips. Gratuity and cash tips vary depending on the event.
