What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant Substitute position at Tarbut V'Torah Community Day School?
This position will substitute in the Health Services department, reporting to the School Nurse.
The Medical Assistant substitute is responsible for attending to the first aid and medical needs of the Transitional Kindergarten through 12th-grade student body, faculty and documenting treatment.
Substitutes will be called on as-needed basis, ranging from one day to long-term assignments.
Essential Job Functions:
- Treats minor illnesses and injuries of students, faculty, and staff to include determining the method of treatment per guidelines, maintaining confidentiality, and notifying parents, guardians, and/or Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers.
- Document student visits to the health office, including treatment.
- Administration of student medications according to documented school protocols and policies.
- Follows universal precautions and infection control procedures at all times for the purpose of minimizing the risk of transmitting contagious and/or infectious disease
- Maintain the health office(s) in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Following school protocols and procedures
Qualifications:
- Graduated from an accredited medical related program.
- One year of medical/clinical experience.
- Current valid CA State License as a School Nurse preferred.
- Valid, current Advanced First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency.
- Proficient at providing first aid care.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, duplicating, and maintaining records.
- Operate a computer and medical equipment as required.
- Comply with relative laws and guidelines per the school, district, and state.
Compensation:
$18.00 per hour
