POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency and driving data-informed decision-making for an operations organization with over 1,000 employees and nearly $1 billion annual operations and maintenance costs. This individual will analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, creating and maintaining tools to track KPIs and performance metrics. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Operations, this position will work with various stakeholders across the company and provide data-driven insights that support strategic decisions. This role is pivotal in providing insights that drive key business decisions and shaping the strategic direction of our operations.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyzes operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Creates and maintains tools/dashboards to track KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Generates periodic (daily, weekly, monthly) reports summarizing operational performance.
  • Provides data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluate operating and maintenance capital spend and drive improvements in process and accuracy

Strategic Planning:

  • Assists in evaluating, planning and forecasting headcount and resource allocation.
  • Conducts scenario modeling and "what-if" analysis to inform strategy.
  • Supports the development of long-term operational goals.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between operations and other departments (e.g., finance, HR, E&C).
  • Provide analytical support for cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Gather and summarize stakeholder feedback to improve operations.

Ad Hoc Support:

  • Respond to time-sensitive data requests and operational queries.
  • Support the Operations Leader in preparing presentations or materials for leadership meetings.
  • Provide real-time support during crises or high-priority operational events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study: Master’s degree preferred
  • 10 years in midstream operations, midstream engineering, accounting, finance, strategic planning, data analysis or related field strongly preferred. 
  • Proven experience in data analysis, process improvement, and strategic planning.
  • Expert with Excel, other database management software and data analytical software such as PowerBI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive operational data
  • Knowledge of asset management software such as Maximo
  • Proven collaboration skills with multiple internal groups at all levels within the company.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, maintain detailed and accurate records, and prepare clear and concise written reports.
  • The level for this position will be commensurate with experience.
