The Corps of Cadets Recruiting Officer supports the Deputy Commandant and the Tarleton Corps of Cadets by developing and executing strategic recruitment initiatives to grow and retain student enrollment. This position involves creating and implementing a recruitment plan that effectively communicates program guidelines, enrollment processes, and scholarship opportunities. The Recruiting Officer plays a critical role in the program's expansion, aligning efforts with the University and Corps' strategic goals to support both student recruitment and retention.
This is an in-office position based on Tarleton's main campus in Stephenville, TX. Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate. Requires the ability to work remotely at the University's discretion. Flexibility is required for weekend work, after-hours commitments, and business travel as needed. The Recruiting Officer also serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).

The target base annual salary range is $53,745 to $76,321 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position. Recruitment Strategy & Execution:
- Develops and implements a strategic recruiting and retention plan in coordination with the Deputy Commandant that supports the University and Leadership and Military College's strategic goals as aligned with Tarleton Forward 2030.
- Creates and distributes recruitment materials, including print, web, and audiovisual resources, that highlight Corps of Cadets career pathways and scholarship opportunities.
- Designs, creates, and maintains timely accurate website and social media content to enhance recruitment efforts and engage prospective students and their families.
- Engages with organizations, schools, and community groups to promote the Corps program, both on and off campus.
- Attends community meetings and events to engage alumni and stakeholders in recruitment efforts.
- Visits high schools, junior colleges, JROTC programs, and other academic organizations to cultivate referrals to the Corps of Cadets.
- Establishes and nurtures relationships with prospective students and parents to ensure ongoing interest and commitment.
- Organizes and manages the peer-to-peer mentoring program for the Corps of Cadets.
- Supports Cadet training, mentoring, and planning activities to understand day-to-day Cadet life and identify trends that enhance recruiting and retention.
- Assists with Corps functions and events to foster strong relationships with Cadets and their families, contributing to retention efforts.
- Directs the activities of up to five student cadets serving as recruiting assistants, either through Corps service positions or paid student roles.
- Provides input on scholarship award processes and analyses retention and commissioning trends to align with Corps and University goals, including the goal of becoming a Senior Military College.
- Supports the Deputy Commandant and other leadership as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years of related experience.
- Three years of experience with a Corps of Cadets or six years of military service.
- Corps of Cadets or military recruiting experience.
- Master's degree
- Ability to travel, including overnight travel, and manage travel logistics and expenses in accordance with University policies.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and maintain follow-up with current and prospective students and their parents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Ability to design and create website/social media content.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Smart Sheet, Zoom, and other virtual meeting and database applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
