What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Maintenance position at Tarragon L.L.C.?
The Grounds Maintenance Technician will perform general grounds and landscape maintenance duties along with residential renovation-type work in support of the Land Management Team Staff. This includes driving to multiple properties using a company vehicle. This position will help ensure properties remain secure and maintained in a clean and presentable manner that is aligned with the high standards and image of Tarragon.
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. Overtime may be required throughout the year as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Experienced with the safe operation of handheld power equipment such as line trimmers, backpack blowers, chainsaws, and hedge trimmers.
- Experienced with the safe operation of mid-size heavy equipment, skid steers, tractors, excavators, riding mowers, etc.
- Experienced with the safe operation of all forms of carpentry tools, saws, drills, etc.
- Preferred experience with carpentry, painting, minor plumbing and electrical.
- Ability to safely load and unload materials onsite and into different vehicles.
- Ability to safely perform debris removal and property cleanup.
- Adhere to all company rules, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Maintain a tidy and safe workspace, whether it be the job site, company vehicle, or maintenance shop.
- Ability to safely and properly perform fueling, lube, and minor maintenance on equipment as required.
- Clearly and respectfully communicate with supervisors, coworkers, and the Public.
- Ability to properly follow instructions as provided by both the Land Manager and Land Foreman.
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment or on your own with direction.
- Ability to enhance our team concept by bringing a strong, positive personality and positive attitude to work each day.
- Ability to be punctual and reliable day-to-day.
- Assist with site security measures and property inspections as needed.
- Perform safety-related pre-task planning prior to the start of the workday.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Experience with the operation of basic hand and power tools.
- Timeliness and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting from time to time.
- Ability to be self-directed and work alone when required.
- Ability to work outdoors in urban and rural environments.
- Ability to work in inclement weather as needed.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Ability to use common sense in all aspects of daily work.
- Ability to understand that some required jobs are less glamours and more difficult than others but still able to perform each one with the same positive attitude.
