- Assists in preparing the annual budget, which includes capital improvement plan and debt service.
- Assists in reviewing and evaluating operational and financial plans submitted by departments that outline prospective programs and services, including proposed funding increases and new initiatives, estimated costs and expenses, and capital expenditures needed to finance these programs and services.
- Conducts analytical studies, utilizing expertise in financial and budgetary areas for trends affecting the County’s business.
- Assists in developing and planning programs for risk and loss control for Countywide applications including establishing and maintaining systems and procedures for claims adjusting, records management, and data collection and oversight of self-insured insurance programs and funding.
- Oversees preparation of fiscal notes during legislative process.
- Publishes annual budget report(s).
- Oversees the County’s Governing for Results Performance Management Program. Leads budgetary transparency efforts and develops performance measurement plans. Develops and maintains departmental key performance indicators and financial measures.
- Acts as Director in the absence of the Director.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.

- TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field.
- TO APPLY, must have Five (5) full-time years of work experience with a multi-million dollar government entity or public administration.
- TO APPLY, must have Three (3) full-time years of related supervisory experience, having had the responsibility for supervising the work of employees and conducting their performance evaluations.
- Requires the essential knowledge, skill, and ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, employees, departments, and the general public.
- Must have knowledge of government accounting and the ability to understand and analyze financial statements and budgetary requirements.
- Must have excellent knowledge of budgeting principles and practices.
- Must have advanced knowledge of State statutes regarding Texas County government.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment

Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. Salary : $111,726 - $134,072
