What are the responsibilities and job description for the PREMATURITY PREVENTION INTERVIEWER and FIMR ABSTRACTOR (Part-Time) position at Tarrant County?
- Participates in prematurity prevention education through the usage of 17P.
- Abstracts medical and legal records regarding infant mortality.
- Compiles data and presents cases at FIMR meetings.

1. Educates individuals and families regarding 17P and prematurity prevention.2. Conducts initial assessments and provides follow up to 17P eligible participants.
3. Abstracts information from the medical records for the FIMR program.
4. Contacts hospitals to retrieve medical records for specified cases.
5. Completes appropriate abstraction forms and submits case summary to FIMR Coordinator.
6. Attends case review team meetings and presents case summaries.
7. Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the Public Health Department as assigned or required.

MUST PROVIDE LICENSING AGENCY AND LICENSE NUMBER IN "CERTIFICATES AND LICENSING" SECTION OF THE APPLICATION OR RISK DISQUALIFICATION.

Must have a clinical background in public health, obstetrics, pediatrics, neonatology, or perinatology and/or an understanding of community health care systems and resources.
Organization and people skills are needed. Good documentation and communication skills are required.
Must have ability to use standard word processing programs.

Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, lift, stoop, walk, bend, push, and pull.
