Shipping Supervisor

POSITION TITLE: Shipping Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Tarter Tube

REPORTS TO: Assigned Supervisor

STATUS: Full Time Hourly Position

Job Summary

As the Shipping Supervisor at Tarter Tube, you will be responsible for coordinating shipping activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of tubing products to both internal and external customers. You will oversee a team of shipping and clerical staff, manage inventory across multiple warehouses, and collaborate closely with production, sales, logistics, and quality control teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with production, sales, and logistics departments to achieve 100% on-time delivery using tools such as the "Tube Demand Report" and Epicor tools.
• Stage loads in designated areas prior to truck arrival to facilitate quality inspections and verify tube type and quantity.
• Notify quality control and shipping clerks before loading trucks to ensure accurate verification of tube type and quantity.
• Manage tube inventory at Tube Main Warehouse, E-Building warehouse, and Liberty Water Tank Warehouse using Epicor tools.
• Supervise shipping and clerical staff to ensure safe and proper loading and unloading of tubing products.
• Conduct spot checks on tube quality with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and collaborate with quality and production teams to make necessary inventory adjustments.
• Attend daily production meetings and provide updates on shipping activities and schedules.
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous experience in shipping supervision or related roles within a manufacturing environment, preferably in steel or tube manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of logistics, inventory management, and quality control processes.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems, specifically Epicor, for inventory management and reporting.
• Leadership skills to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
  
  

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of [X] years of experience in shipping supervision or a similar role.

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
