What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Peer Support position at Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc?
Tarzana Treatment Centers is hiring individuals in Recovery to provide patient supervision, along with a variety of peer support, advocacy and coordination of services in behavioral healthcare and substance use disorder. This position will promote recovery, resiliency, along with empower patients in treatment. There are openings at our Tarzana and Woodland Hills facilities. This position DOES NOT require individual to be a registered or certified counselor.
This position will require individuals in Recovery to meet with patients who are seeking detox, residential or outpatient services. The Recovery Peer Support will share their story of recovery, along with help patients maneuver through their treatment, assisting them with challenges, concerns, answer questions, connecting them to resources, along with engage patient with self-management to promote wellness and recovery, and educate patients with tools to manage their diagnosis.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or above
- Computer literate
- Stable recovery for 1 or more years
- Ability to listen, advocate, and support others
