POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Buyer II / Market Analyst role will support procurement efforts for engineered-to-order projects for modular solutions, which can include datacenters, packaged air and/or chilled water, power plants, etc., all within an MRP-driven environment. Buyers are responsible for managing assigned projects, sourcing assigned commodities and expense types, and developing new suppliers, ensuring contractual requirements are met, and recommending final purchase decisions.
Key Job Responsibilities
Position is at least 80% to 95% at a desk working with computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal and conduct extensive reading. The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.

Buyers are responsible for managing assigned projects, sourcing assigned commodities and expense types, and developing new suppliers, ensuring contractual requirements are met, and recommending final purchase decisions.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the supply market and suppliers. Lead strategic sourcing projects, including market analysis and strategy development.
- Partner with functional and business teams to understand requirements and develop and align sourcing strategies.
- Support the prequalification process for potential suppliers
- Solicit and review supplier quotations
- Manage and nurture commercial relationships with suppliers, monitoring their performance against key indicators.
- Develop and monitor supplier recovery plans, as necessary, for quality issues or schedule delays
- Communicate risks and changes of supplier orders to appropriate TAS personnel
- Reconcile Bill of Materials (BOM)s to planned orders and issued Purchase Orders (PO) and work with Configuration Management and Purchasing to resolve discrepancies
- Advise senior management of non-standard contractual issues which can create legal and business risk to TAS and suggest correction actions
- Resolve receiving discrepancies by comparing purchase order to delivery documentation.
- Assure an uninterrupted flow of materials, supplies and services required to operate the organization.
- Follow up purchases as necessary through correspondence or telephone to expedite order, change amounts, material, specifications, etc.
- Identify cost savings and value creation opportunities and support the implementation of the goods and services
- Any other responsibilities as assigned by TAS.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Highly organized self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow and document standard work processes.
- Good organizational, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of materials management, purchasing methods, and expediting procedures.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- Intermediate level knowledge of standard ERP/ MRP principles and practices.
- Infor/LN experience/purchasing module knowledge a plus.
- Foundation level knowledge of commercial contracts and service agreements.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience, intermediate Excel skills required.
- Strong analytical skills including establishment and tracking of key metrics
- Strong project management capabilities
- 4-10 years of experience in purchasing/expediting in an custom engineered manufacturing organization to order/make to order ERP/MRP driven manufacturing environment.
- Proven skills in negotiation and influencing decision-making processes
- Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and/or market intelligence and derive actionable insights.
- Demonstrated intermediate Excel skills: VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Formulas, Charts & Graphs, Data Tables
- Experience working across multiple functions/departments
- APICS CPIM certification.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma acceptable with appropriate industry experience.
