ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports daily at beginning of shift to supervisor for assignments and instructions.
- Operate CNC machines and ensure parts comply with specifications and quality standards.
- Read, interpret, and make practical application of blueprints, including determining which tool makes each cut on parts.
- Read and interpret measurements of parts using various precision instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Properly handles inspections of parts/gauging/quality.
- Loads/unload parts and bar feeder on CNC machine, including unlocking, opening, loading, feeding, closing, relocking, and starting machine.
- Safely operates general machine shop equipment properly.
- Follows company rules and regulations.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Proactively offers suggestions for the improvement of a product, process, or practice.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of and ability to make practical application of OSHA and company safety precautions and procedures.
- Good understanding of CNC control functions and ability to use precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to count and make simple arithmetic additions and subtractions and use mathematics.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions, observe and read instruments, gauges and dials, and use technical manuals.
- Ability to work alone and with others in a team environment with minimum supervision, work rapidly for long periods and work on several tasks at the same time, often under time pressure.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with other company personnel, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities, and disabilities.
- Ability to regularly work scheduled hours including weekend and/or evening hours.
Day Shift (7AM-3PM), Afternoon Shift (3PM-11PM), or Midnight Shift (11PM-7AM)
