Job Overview
Taskmaster Components began as a small retail tire shop in East Texas in 1985, and over the past 35 years, we have grown into a global provider of tires, wheels, and assemblies. Product quality has been our priority since day one, and we invest heavily in product research and development to ensure our customers get the best. Our warehouses in Macon, Georgia; Angola, Indiana; Hampton, Iowa; Sikeston, Missouri; and Mount Pleasant, Texas are strategically located to service the trailer and RV industries.
The Production Supervisor is a member of the Taskmaster Components leadership team and plays a key role in providing management and leadership to deliver business results and operational improvements. Under direction of the General Manager and Assistant General Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing operations as well as assisting in other areas of the facility as needed. This is a hands on, physical labor position that will lead as an example to employees.
This role has responsibility to achieve productivity, efficiency, customer service, cost, quality, safety and employee engagement objectives through both individual and team contributions. Provides direction, leadership, development and support to employees through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments and continuous improvement projects and initiatives. Develops, implements and promotes safety programs and safe work practices through involvement in plant safety teams, programs and initiatives. Promotes sound employee & labor relations within the department by developing and maintaining an effective organization. Develops, promotes, and supports continuous improvement and other cross-functional initiatives.
- Supervise daily production activities to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate production staff to enhance performance and productivity.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Implement and maintain sanitation protocols to ensure a clean working environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production schedules and workflows.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to maintain operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the production process, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, including packaging and inventory levels.
Skills
- Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective team leadership and collaboration.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on maintaining high standards of food safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficient in problem-solving techniques related to production challenges.
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Computer literacy and light computer programming experience is a plus. Manufacturing Environment, Forklift, Warehouse, Leadership experience preferred.
Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm (1 hour lunch break)
Occasional Saturday and weekday overtime may be required.
$19.00 an hour, $1.00 an hour bonus after 90-day probationary period.
