Currently looking for an Accounting Manager to join a thriving company in Norfolk. The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting, compliance, and internal reporting functions for company and will manage a team. This is an opportunity not to be missed with an amazing company! Hybrid work schedule. CPA is a MUST. Must be local to the Hampton Roads area.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with others and manage staff to ensure accounting tasks (including month end close and account reconciliations) are performed.
- Support FP&A (decision support) activities while ensuring segregation of responsibilities.
- Help with managing compliance activities across accounting-related functions such as accounts payable, employee Travel and Entertainment and Tax related matters.
- Query, mine, and report on data sets and use data analytics tools to validate and support recorded transactions.
- Manage the proper accounting of revenue, and document accounting conclusions using technical guidance, including ASC606.
- Review customer contracts and other transactions and ensure the proper accounting observing ASC606 or other relevant accounting standards.
- Review and enforce efficient corporate procedures and resource use.
- Monitor employee performance, provide constructive feedback to staff and develop employees.
- Partner with several departments to gather financial and other relevant information needed for close activities and financial reporting.
- Commitment to continuing education on current and latest GAAP/SEC issues that influence the digital media industry.
- Ensure daily operational needs are met with accuracy.
- Provide support to the Sr. Manager of Financial Accounting.
- Manage special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA
- 5 years of accounting experience
- 2 management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication
