What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper/Controller position at Tatum by Randstad?
Our client is a specialty manufacturer of medical grade medical products! They are searching for a knowledgeable bookkeeper/controller to oversee the accounting function. This position will also have human resources responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily financial activities, including processing invoices, managing customer payments, handling payroll, and maintaining the general ledger.
- Generate monthly financial reports, reconcile bank statements, and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Oversee cash flow and budgeting, offering financial guidance to company leadership.
- Assist with financial reporting, tax filings, and coordinating with external auditors as needed.
- Support the management of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and month-end closing procedures to ensure precise and prompt financial reporting.
- Administer employee benefit programs, such as health coverage, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Facilitate hiring, onboarding, and maintaining employee records.
- Process payroll and ensure adherence to federal and state labor regulations.
- Act as a resource for employee relations and HR-related concerns.
- Develop, implement, and maintain company policies and operational procedures.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- At least five years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, ideally within a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Background in payroll management and human resources administration.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Capability to work independently while juggling multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
