An exciting and growing global manufacturing organization in the Philadelphia area is seeking a strong Cost & General Accountant to join its dynamic finance team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced and expanding company while gaining exposure to cost accounting, general accounting, and financial analysis. This role reports to the CFO.
Job Summary:
The Cost & Manufacturing Accountant will be responsible for analyzing, tracking, and reporting production costs while also handling general accounting tasks and financial analysis. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial data, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and report on production costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead.
- Prepare cost reports to assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Maintain cost accounting systems and ensure accuracy in financial data related to inventory, cost of goods sold, and margins.
- Conduct variance analysis between actual and standard costs, identifying and explaining discrepancies.
- Support financial statement preparation, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with inventory valuation, reconciliation, and monitoring stock levels.
- Provide insights for pricing decisions and product profitability analysis.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and sales teams to enhance cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in audits and assist with external and internal audit processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, or a similar role preferred
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred), and inventory management software.
- Background in manufacturing or industrial finance.
