Due to the continued growth and expansion of our business, we are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Mechanical Designer based in our Prairieville, Louisiana office.
The Mechanical Designer will be assigned onsite at Baton Rouge, Louisiana client location.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
- Complete Mechanical Design and Layouts in accordance with Industry Practices using 2D & 3D Software. Design modifications of new and existing process service and utilities.
- Prepare construction documents including General Arrangements, Piping Isometrics, P&IDs, Piping Plans, Lines Lists, and Tie-In Lists.
- Initiate conceptual physical design requirements in coordination with appropriate responsible supervisors and engineers.
- Prepare material takeoffs of partial or complete projects.
- Prepare field design sketches.
- Review vendor shop drawings and construction drawings as necessary
- Provide mechanical discipline leadership for assigned projects.
- Provide technical support, clarification and interpretation of task, code and standards requirements for all mechanical design and drafting activities.
- Reviews assigned projects discipline deliverables for technical quality, accuracy and compliance with Client standards.
- Determine discipline manpower requirements to support project budgets and schedule.
- Lead team of designers, allocating work duties and monitoring project progress.
- Performing mechanical design, including system components selection, specification, and detail design.
- Prepare project scope documents and installation standards.
- Providing estimates for engineering work.
- Providing construction support during installation.
