The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Function Description • Operate and/or assist in operation of postal metering machines, bar code sorters, intelligent inserters, collators, digital printing equipment, folders, cutters, duplicators, and other related auxiliary equipment.• Receive, store, and distribute office supplies, equipment, forms, and other printed material needed for day to day operations.• Package materials for mailing.• Prepare and maintain standard reports as required.• Assist other units within the facility when needed during peak season.• Bend, lift, stand and walk for extended periods of time. • Operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license in order to pick up and deliver mail as required.• Demonstrate the ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.• Work overtime as required. • Meet the Department’s time and attendance rules.

Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS): For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.Non-Competitive Minimum Qualifications: There are no minimum education or experience requirements for this title.Competitive Minimum Qualifications: Current NYS employee eligible for 70.1 transfer under the provisions of NYS Civil Service Laws, Rules, & Regulations.ORReachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title and location.OR 55-b/c: please include your letter of eligibility with your response.
