Taxing Authority Consulting Services, P.C. is a Virginia law firm with a focus in its practice to serve only government entities in managing accounts receivable, tax assessments, and the general revenue cycle. Our firm’s extensive experience in collection, bankruptcy, and assessment matters offers our clients full-service representation related to their receivables.
The Real Estate Litigation Specialist/Paralegal provides litigation support to eight attorneys in the tax sale litigation department of a tax collection law firm. The Real Estate Litigation Specialist/Paralegal is responsible for managing cases through the entirety of the tax sale litigation process. This includes identifying parcels that qualify for litigation, preparing the proper notice, ordering and reviewing titles, preparing and filing Complaints along with supporting litigation documents, scheduling hearings, preparing auctions, and closing out sales after confirmation by the court.
Candidates must have demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to analyze and understand what they are reading and preparing at an advanced level. Attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to work independently, strong verbal and written communication skills, and superb organizational skills are essential.
Civil Litigation, Title Review, Mortgage Loan Closing experience is helpful, but not required, as training is provided. The ideal candidate is a hard worker who is eager to learn and willing to accept guidance.
Due to the nature of the responsibilities of this position most of the work will be done in-office, with the possibility for some remote work and flexible scheduling.
