What are the responsibilities and job description for the Policy Intern position at Taxpayers Protection Alliance Foundation?
The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid, 10-week experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers meaningful work experience at non-profits all over the country tackling some of our nation’s most pressing challenges . Throughout your internship with a partner organization, Stand Together Fellowships hosts virtual professional development sessions every Thursday from 1-5 pm ET, wherein you will be mentored by seasoned professionals as you craft a capstone project on the topic that matters most to you. Interns will receive either a $5,500 or $3,300 stipend from Stand Together Fellowships depending on whether they are participating full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (28 hours/week).

The Taxpayers Protection Alliance Foundation (TPAF) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to educating the public about the effects of excessive taxation and spending by all levels of government through research, investigative reporting, and analysis. TPAF also educates the public about government transparency and openness in the United States and around the world.
The Taxpayers Protection Alliance Foundation (TPAF) is seeking a highly motivated part-time intern to join our policy team. Candidates should have an interest in economic and regulatory policy areas now being debated in Congress and within the executive branch as well as a strong commitment to free-market economics and limited government.
An ideal candidate will have strong writing skills. Previous experience in policy research is preferred but not required.
This role will be part time, in person, in Washington, D.C.
- Assist the policy team in researching and drafting policy papers, op-eds, blogs, press releases, etc on a wide range of issue areas including tax reform, tech policy, healthcare, antitrust, regulation, and more;
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, such as congressional votes and committee hearings;
- Conduct background research for other team projects;
- Attend various events in Washington, D.C., to promote TPAF’s interests.
