About The Role
As a Tax Investigation Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to build relationships with clients and the IRS to provide full-spectrum representation for taxpayers with various tax issues. You'll work closely with both state agencies and the IRS to ensure cases are handled effectively and efficiently. You will manage and update cases, submit POAs online, and maintain accurate records while providing excellent service and support to clients and colleagues.

About The Role
As a Tax Investigation Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to build relationships with clients and the IRS to provide full-spectrum representation for taxpayers with various tax issues. You'll work closely with both state agencies and the IRS to ensure cases are handled effectively and efficiently. You will manage and update cases, submit POAs online, and maintain accurate records while providing excellent service and support to clients and colleagues.
What You’ll Do
- Run tax investigations for state agencies.
- Conduct IRS tax investigations via THS and telephonically, and update cases accordingly.
- Submit Power of Attorney (POA) forms online to both IRS and state agencies.
- Upload transcripts to client case files and update case status.
- Complete assigned tasks by required deadlines.
- Maintain accurate and timely notes in CRM and track progress.
- Collaborate with other departments, including tax professionals, sales, and clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- CTEC Certification.
- Active PTIN and CAF Number with the IRS.
- 2 years of experience with CRM and tax management systems.
- Excellent computer skills (G Suite, Microsoft Office), including CRM system experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Time management skills, including the ability to handle a large caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED), or two years of related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
