Our accounting firm is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team. Our firm has offices in both Atlanta and Columbus Georgia, providing quality accounting, taxation services and wealth management. We are looking for a team member that is great with customers and would like to help you take your career to the next level and maximize your potential with an amazing team. This individual must be detail-oriented, organized, have the ability to effectively communicate and be willing to help out as needed. Room to grow and earn within the firm if desired and motivated.
Primary Responsibilities for Senior Accountant
- Performing account analysis and reconciliations
- Maintaining general ledger and managing month end, quarter end or year-end closing process
- Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports
- Research accounting and tax matters in order to summarize results and propose resolutions
- Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation
- Guide junior/staff accountants and other staff by answering questions and coordinating informational classes
- Develop and sustain strong client relationships
- Respond to client inquires and taxing authority notices
- Perform other accounting and tax duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Strong candidates for this position should be motivated, reliable and possess:
- A bachelors degree in accounting or a related major is required, CPA preferred
- Two - five years prior experience in public accounting, is preferred
- Three years prior experience with CCH Axcess and QuickBooks required
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and GAAP
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex information
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Word required
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and to analyze problems logically and comprehensively, distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant information
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to handle sensitive/confidential matters in a tactful and discreet manner
- Strong inter-personal skills, including the capability to effectively present information and respond to clients needs
