Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Foreman to join our team and manage the daily operations at our construction sites throughout Colorado. Working closely with Superintendents, the Foreman will supervise staff, coordinate with subcontractors, ensure safety compliance, and keep projects organized and on track.
Compensation:
Salary/hourly rates are based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified design and quality standards.
- Review and apply contract documents, plans, and specifications, and manage Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA and project-specific requirements.
- Supervise employees and subcontractors, ensuring tasks are performed efficiently and safely.
- Maintain accurate daily and weekly reports on project progress and activities.
- Suggest improvements to the project schedule, crew efficiency, and equipment use to optimize performance.
- Oversee the operation of construction equipment and assist with training employees.
- Ensure worksite cleanliness and organization, with daily and weekly cleanup routines.
- Verify crew time entries and ensure accurate payroll.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of civil construction and experience with various types of equipment (e.g., skid-steer, loader, excavator, dozer, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, stakes, and grading specifications.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to engage and train staff effectively.
- Strong communication skills, able to work well with a diverse team, contractors, clients, and inspectors.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid organizational skills with proficiency in report writing and project management.
- A commitment to upholding high safety standards and leading by example.
Education & Experience:
- Required: High school diploma or GED, willingness to learn and complete an OSHA safety class. Basic to intermediate computer skills are necessary for reporting purposes.
- Preferred: minimum 1 year of supervisory experience or a similar role. Understanding of grading and dirt-moving operations, as well as OSHA compliance, is highly valued. Experience with project budgeting is a plus.
Physical Demands:
- This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Work involves operating machinery and performing tasks that may require climbing, pushing, and pulling equipment.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily outdoors, subject to diverse weather conditions and rough terrain. When operating equipment, employees may experience continuous vibration and shaking.
