Sanitation Lead
1.0 Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Will work under direct supervision of the Sanitation Manager/Supervisor
- Operate food plant sanitation equipment efficiently with a minimum of downtime to meet daily objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
- Initiate ideas and solutions to enhance Taylor Farms Texas sanitation program.
- Clean and Sanitize process lines and perform equipment set-up duties. Ensure that facility and scheduled equipment is properly cleaned & sanitized and ready for operation.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be issued as needed and must be worn at all times.
- Will conduct Safety, GMP’s,(MSDS) Material Safety Data Sheets and SOP’s Meetings with employees
- Plans, establishes priorities, and oversees the processes in the sanitation department that are required to achieve consistency within the policies and procedures of Taylor Farms.
- Prepares schedules and coordinates activities to ensure consistency with the employees.
· Develops and revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
· Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Human Resources for further actions.
· Maintains, stores, and retrieves Sanitation data.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations
- Interprets specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet Master Sanitation schedules
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department or work crew
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities
· Training of new employees
· Ensure that all SQF, HACCP, Food Safety, GMP, Food Quality and Employee Safety rules and programs are followed.
2.0 Education/Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in biological, agricultural, or chemical sciences, Food Science or Technology preferred
· Must have 1 to 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Sanitation.
3.0 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Bi-lingual a plus
· Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.
· Good Organizational Skills- Must be able to prioritize
· Reasoning Ability - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
4.0 Physical Requirements
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk and sit.
· Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks).

6.0 Work Environment
· Full time position
· Must be willing to work in refrigerated warehouse environment – Cold/Wet 38°F.
· Must be able to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as scheduled or needed.
· Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
· Must work in a professional and courteous manor with subordinates and peers.
· Open to work in a diverse work environment

NOTE: This job position reflects management’s assignment of essential functions. It does not however restrict any other tasks that may be assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 per week
