Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Fire Alarm Apprentice to join our team. The ideal candidate will be trained in fire safety systems, with the ability to design, install, and maintain fire protection systems. This role requires hands-on training in understanding fire alarm systems, relevant codes, and standards. The Fire Alarm Apprentice will work directly with teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations and the effective implementation of fire protection measures.
Duties
- Work alongside a licensed Fire Alarm technician to conduct thorough inspections of sites to ensure compliance with local building codes and National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) Standards
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints and schematics to facilitate the installation of fire safety systems.
- Work alongside a licensed Fire Alarm technician to collaborate with construction teams to integrate fire safety measures into building designs.
- You will be trained to provide technical support for fire alarm sales, including system recommendations based on client needs.
- Utilize hand tools and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing fire protection systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, installations, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Willingness to learn fire protection engineering or a related field.
- Technical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools is preferable.
- Familiarity with construction inspection processes and building codes.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems, including design, installation, and maintenance practices is plus but not necessary
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Alaska State Driver's License
- Ability to Travel
Pay
- Range: $22 to $45 depending on experience
Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship
Pay: $22.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
