BESS Solution Director -USA

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced BESS Solutions Director to lead and drive the technical direction, design, and execution of utility-scale (BESS in North America. This customer-facing role involves pre-sales engagement, solution development, and technical strategy to support commercial teams in winning and delivering large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will be a senior technical leader with deep expertise in BESS, grid integration, and regulatory requirements in the North American market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical design, engineering, and optimization of utility-scale BESS solutions, ensuring alignment with client needs and regulatory standards.
• Serve as the technical authority for sales and business development teams, providing expert guidance on system architecture, grid integration, and performance optimization.
• Analyze RFPs and tender documents, identifying risks, technical requirements, and competitive advantages.
• Develop and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and tender responses for clients and stakeholders.
• Drive continuous innovation by monitoring market trends, competitive technologies, and regulatory developments.
• Collaborate with customers, grid operators, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless project execution.
• Support commercial teams in contract negotiations, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance with industry standards.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, software, and product teams to refine and enhance BESS offerings.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 10 years of experience in BESS, energy storage, or grid-scale renewable energy solutions.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
• Deep expertise in battery storage systems, power conversion systems (PCS), PPC/EMS/SCADA, and grid connection (medium & high voltage).
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale (>5MW) BESS projects in North America.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, interconnection processes, and grid codes.
• Experience in proposal management, pre-sales engineering, and technical business development.
• Ability to size and design PCS and battery storage solutions, ensuring optimal efficiency and performance.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
• Familiarity with relevant standards (UL, IEEE, IEC) and compliance processes.
