As a Regional Controller working for Taylor Morrison you will be responsible for working alongside the Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller, to lead the corporate accounting function as it relates to the divisions, prepare and review the monthly and quarterly financial statements, establish and maintain accounting policy across the organization, and provide support to the SEC reporting function.We trust that as a Regional Controller you will : (responsibilities)Preparing and reviewing monthly and quarterly financial statements generated by OneStreamEnsuring compliance with Finance policy at the division levelAssist Field Finance in best practices for divisionsAnalyzing changes in account balances to ensure financial statements are complete, accurate, and in accordance with GAAPContribute and support SEC reporting by providing and preparing key financial reporting notes, MD&A, statements, etcImplementation of new accounting guidance across the organization, including new disclosures for SEC reportingTechnical accounting and disclosure research for potential and actual significant and non-routine transactionsAssist Corporate Controller in corporate monthly financial close processAssist CAO with key reports and presentationsManage accounting for debt, interest, bonus accruals, leases, and other corporate accounting areasAssist in the maintenance of internal controls documentation related to corporate financial reporting and accounting to ensure compliance with SOXCollaborate with Corporate Controller to identify areas of improvement in accounting and reportingDirect supervision of senior and staff accountants including professional development of senior(s) and / or staff.Coordination and assistance provided to Corporate Controller and CAO in managing external auditYou are willing to perform other duties as assignedThere will also be opportunities to partner with other departments on certain projects, project manage key opportunities (i.e. OneStream, acquisition integration and diligence, financial reporting improvements).What you will need : (competencies, behaviors & attributes) Excellent Communication SkillsIntegrity / TrustLeadershipOrganizationPriority SettingStrategic ThinkingAbout you : Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA, active CPA candidacy acceptableBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance7 years of experience, preferably in the homebuilding, land development and / or construction industryExperience with finance and accounting systemsPrior experience managing and training accounting / finance personnelComputer literacy, including excellent Excel skillsFLSA Status : ExemptWill have responsibilities such as : Office or non-manual work, which is directly related to management or general business operationsAct as a primary component of which involves the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significanceEssential Functions : Successful job applicants will be able to perform these functions.
