Job Description The Field and Safety Manager provides day-to-day “hands-on” orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring of all drivers, operators, and mechanics in an assigned area. Works closely with Operations, Safety, Recruiting, Vendors and Customers to ensure superior, ongoing relationships. Assists with all maintenance and service issues regarding company fleet. Overall assists with the responsibility for safety, DOT compliance, hiring, training, coaching and separation of drivers, operators, and mechanics. Duties & Responsibilities: Operational Performance Daily maintenance and housekeeping of the units and work truck is followed. Demonstrate and follow the rig in and rig out procedure and complete the checklist for each site. Ensure all equipment and tools are accounted for on each unit using the inventory checklist. Ensure all work conforms to Atlas policies. Responsible for delivery of PPE and supplies for our field employees. Assist in conducting gate checks on the fleet each month. Assist with ensuring all trucks are DOT compliant before leaving the yard. Responsible for coordinating with the customers to keep all equipment utilized properly. Responsible for auditing pre trip, post-trip paperwork for all drivers and will conduct site audits on all field employees. Be clearly familiar with client site and training requirements by engaging with client safety and site management. Safety Perform all job duties in a safe manner. Follow all safety policies and procedures. Report all safety incidents to the manager and safety and assist with investigations. Follow all safety procedures and policy with no exceptions. Ensure daily JSA are completed, coaching as needed to all site personnel. Participate and lead in hazard identification program. Participate and lead safety meetings (field and monthly). Role model and influence a healthy safety culture in the field. Customer Service Communicate respectfully and professionally with other vendors, company man. Be proactive and self-motivated in duties and when directing contractors. Contribute to a healthy work environment by being a team player. Assist our customers and driver staff in handling all day-to-day issues that arise. Supervisor duties Maintain all paperwork for operator training procedures and knowledge checks for new operators. Certify all new trainees have completed training before being released from training. Demonstrate safe operations of Atlas equipment. Demonstrate proper maintenance and housekeeping on Atlas equipment. Provide clear feedback and corrective steps for improvement to all field personnel. Responsible for field/site inspections, facility inspections; Safety, Service and Quality Foster a comfortable, respectful learning environment. Demonstrate a professional and respectful attitude. Required skills and abilities: Proven managerial and supervisory skills and experience. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and similar software. Must be willing to travel up to 70% of the time. 24/7 operation (Weekend and evening availability required). Field presence 70% of the time. Education and experience: 2 years’ experience in a leadership role. 2 years of experience in a field safety role. DOT compliance and training is an asset. Safety leadership training and/or safety certification an asset.
