Associate General Counsel, Solar Energy Contracts

This forward-thinking company focuses on the development, construction, and long-term operation of innovative solar power systems, including rooftop and canopy installations. Their mission is to make solar energy accessible and efficient for businesses, contributing to a greener future and providing reliable, clean energy solutions.
They are seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their legal team, reporting directly to the General Counsel. This role will be crucial in managing legal matters related to their solar projects. The successful candidate will handle contracts and agreements, navigate state regulations, and collaborate with various internal teams and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities :
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of contracts, including development, construction, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contracts, financing agreements, and other related agreements.
- Provide legal support for early-stage project development, ensuring compliance with relevant state requirements for selling power and distributed generation.
- Work closely with internal teams, including early development and EPC teams, as well as operations and maintenance personnel.
- Serve as a legal advisor to senior management, guiding legal aspects of project execution and interfacing with potential customers.
- Ensure adherence to state and local regulations related to distributed generation and power sales.
