I'm currently partnering with a Financial Services company based in St. Petersburg, FL who are looking to hire a Corporate Counsel.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling complex technology transactions, IP licensing, data privacy, and security matters. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
This is an in-office role. Relocation support would be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of technology-related agreements, including software licensing, technology development, and technology transfer agreements.
- Provide legal advice on data privacy and security issues, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Manage IP portfolios, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, and advise on IP strategy and enforcement.
- Support mergers and acquisitions by conducting IP due diligence and advising on IP-related aspects of transactions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including IT, R&D, and business development, to provide legal guidance on technology initiatives.
- Stay current with developments in data privacy, IP law, and technology transactions to provide proactive legal advice.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to manage legal risks associated with technology and IP transactions.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to at least one state bar.
- 5 years of experience in technology transactions, IP licensing, and data privacy/security, preferably with a mix of law firm and in-house experience.
- Strong understanding of software licensing, technology development, and data privacy laws.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
