Position Overview: As a Carpet/Water Mitigation Technician, you will have a variety of responsibilities including:
· Execute disaster response, and structural drying following IICRC standards.
· Performs water damage repair to include water extraction, removing/disposing of non-salvageable materials, demolition as directed by supervisor.
· Set up and manage drying equipment at work sites, ensuring efficient setup and removal.
· Move contents/furniture to access mitigation/carpet cleaning areas.
· Perform moisture mapping and loss documentation.
· Performs daily monitoring and tasks on assigned water jobs to residential and/or commercial customers with urgency.
· Ensures equipment, supplies, vehicles, and products are properly handled. Reports any equipment malfunction and/or damage to supervisor.
· Prepares documentation and pictures according to company policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies.
· Cleaning of carpet, rugs, and upholstery.
· Participate in our 24-hour on-call rotation, responding to emergencies after hours and on weekends.
· Drive company vehicles (no CDL required)
Qualifications:
· Experience in the restoration industry preferred, including IICRC Certifications, but not required.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Must be able to prioritize activities and meet deadlines.
· Experience using mobile software to enter data.
· Can read and follow product label usage instructions.
· Hardworking, honest, dependable, and safety focused.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Reports to work on time in a clean, complete uniform.
· Willingness to cross-train within the cleaning department.
· Move 75 pounds often, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.
· Stand/walk for extended periods of time. Lifting, squatting, crawling and crouching is required.
· For safety reasons, respirators, which are used in certain situations, must be able to seal to your face.
· Use visual acuity to perform detail-oriented activities.
· Be exposed to various inside and outside working conditions. The change of environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
· Valid driver license with no more than 3 driving infractions in the last 3 years.
· Reliable, insured transportation at your disposal.
· Successful completion of drug screening (we test for heroin, amphetamines, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine).
· Successful completion of background screening. Due to insurance contract requirements, any convictions must be discussed with Human Resource Director for contract compliance.
· Must participate in the on-call rotation for our emergency services. These calls come in 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
· Currently reside within or have the ability to self-relocate within the Anchorage area within a few weeks.
