HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST/RECRUITER
The Human Resources Generalist/Recruiter is responsible for delivering human resources functions for the organization. This position does have supervisory responsibility and will focus on recruitment, employee relations, compliance management, and administrative functions related to the role amongst other duties as needed for the successful operation of the organization. The role requires a strong background within the Oil and Gas/Offshore Hospitality and Remote Services industry and the ability to effectively execute and manage Human Resources processes and personnel.
Duties And Responsibilities
Recruitment and Staffing:
· Manage the full cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, and coordinating onboarding process
· Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent
· Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of staff
· Actively participate in all staffing related activities and projects as directed by the Director of HR.
Employee Relations:
· Foster a positive and inclusive work environment
· Assist in investigations if deemed necessary
· Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures and organizational programs.
Compliance:
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations
· Ensure accurate and compliant record keeping procedures
· Staying up to date with new laws and regulations to keep the organization compliant
Performance Management:
· Assist in performance management process
· Provide guidance/support as needed on performance management issues
Training and Development:
· Identify training needs to enhance employee skills and knowledge
· Coordinate and facilitate training sessions as needed
Compensation and Benefits:
· Assist in benchmarking to ensure market competitiveness
· Assist in benefits administration as needed
Health and Safety:
· Collaborate with the HSE team to promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
· Work closely with HSE to ensure employee training is complete and up to date
HR Metrics and Reporting:
· Track and analyze metrics to identify trends and possible areas of improvement
· Prepare reports as needed
· Assist in preparation of government reporting as needed
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
· Proven foundation and knowledge of principles and practice pertaining to multi-state, maritime as well as international employment and compliance requirements
· Strong interpersonal, negotiation, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills
· People oriented and results driven
· Proven knowledge of recruiting components: sourcing, qualifying, wage/salary trends
· Proven ability to effectively coach employees and manage complex and sensitive issues
· Ability to accomplish daily/weekly responsibilities in conjunction with developing and implementing projects to drive improvement
· Ability to establish personal goals and work independently with minimal supervision
· Ability to teach and coach fellow team members
· Ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task
· Ability to navigate and use tools for software applications
· In depth understanding of database management tools and application
· Ability to develop and deploy programs through digital mediums
· Maritime and maritime credentialing experience
· Experience and willingness to work with foreign nationals
· Strong recruitment background
· Strong attention to detail
· Trusted professional with the ability to maintain confidential data
· Adapt and adjust to changing situations and environments as needed
Requirements/Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, preferred. Related experience in lieu of degree will be considered
· Familiarity with Oil & Gas Offshore Hospitality preferred, but not required
· 3-5 years’ experience in progressively responsible HR roles
· 3 years’ experience in managing HR staff
· Familiar with policy interpretation and applications of policies
· Proficient in Microsoft Office with ability to learn specific software related to the role
· Working knowledge of HRPs and other HR related software
· Ability to travel to support offsite projects as needed (30%-50%)
