Colt, Inc. is a scrap tire processor and transporter licensed and permitted by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality. We’ve been in the scrap tire business since 1994 and have grown to be one of the largest scrap tire processors in Louisiana. We do our part to promote a greener and cleaner world by collecting and recycling waste tires. We're passionate about the work we do and reducing the consumption of natural resources.
Colt, Inc. has two worksites so we can meet our goal of providing customers top-notch service for all of their scrap tire needs. We are currently seeking to hire a Human Resources Representative to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of human resources as well as general administrative responsibilities. Candidates must be able to work autonomously and efficiently.
General Job Duties:
· Ensure human resource processes are in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
· Maintain accurate records of active job openings and received applications.
· Support the hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, reviewing applications and conducting preliminary interviews.
· Perform orientations, onboarding, and update records with new hires.
· Assist with administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or brokers.
· Perform administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence.
· Manage leave coordination for FMLA, STD, Military Leave, Jury Duty, etc.
· Assist with projects such as open enrollment.
· Maintain confidentiality of department and associate information according to established practices and company policies.
· Serve as a liason between management and employees by handling questions and interpreting policy.
· Conduct or assist with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 recording and filing Affordable Care Act required documents.
Requirements and Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices.
- Strong compentnency in using Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
- Understanding of sourcing tools, such as resume databases and online communities.
- Ability to handle data while adhering to strict confidentiality standards.
- Proven experience as a human resources representative or in a relevant human resources/administrative position.
