What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Behavior Technician position at TBD?
We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and team-oriented Behavior Technician to join our staff.
POSITION SUMMARY: This role is vital in supporting students who benefit from additional behavioral interventions and social-emotional learning strategies. The Behavior Technician will work closely with classroom teachers, support staff, administration, and families to ensure that students are set up for success both behaviorally and academically.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support students in general education and/or special education settings to reinforce positive behaviors and de-escalate challenging situations.
- Collect and document behavioral data on student progress and response to intervention.
- Address a variety of student behaviors
- Provide small group or one-on-one support to students focusing on social skills, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to promote proactive classroom and behavior management strategies.
- Participate in school team meetings (e.g. MTSS, behavior support team) to share data and contribute to planning.
- Model and reinforce positive behavior expectations as outlined in the school's building behavior matrix.
- Assist in crisis situations by following school protocols and using approved de-escalation techniques.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural competence in all interactions.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Sixty (60) semester credit hours from an accredited college or university, or passed the ParaPro Assessment Test or a Vaid Missouri Substitute Certificate is required.
- Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms

- Reports to Building Principal
Salary : $18 - $20
