Inventory Cost Accountant compares and analyzes actual results against forecast and budgets for car wash construction jobs. The Project Accountant will maintain the percentage of completion schedule for install related revenue. This person will work with people at all levels of the organization to report, monitor, and manage key financial and non-financial performance indicators. This position also helps the business unit achieve goals, anticipate needs, and resolve problems.
Responsibilities:
- Serve in an audit capacity for projects as it relates to the accounting department
- Provide estimates of new and proposed costs of construction.
- Collect and analyze information to monitor spending
- Compiles cost management documents for planning and closeout of projects
- Maintain the documentation of data and any statistical arrangement in cost analysis
- Secure accounting related documentation such as financial statements, journal entries, checks, and invoices.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly budget/forecast to make sure that job costs for all installation projects are calculated in line with budget considerations.
- Advise the management in terms of financial issues.
- Provide the management team with detailed cost reports containing the factors that affect job costs.
- Evaluate change order requests
- Prepare monthly analysis of sales data for use in commission calculations.
- Analyze job cost financial data and evaluate financial performance of each job
- Perform variance analysis reviews and provide commentary for unusual trends between actual and budget
- Use project management skills to create process for accurate and timely posting and reporting of financial data
- Ensure data accuracy between sub-ledger, ERP and SAP
- Develop tools to assist with strategic initiatives and monthly reporting requirements
- Responsible for ad-hoc reporting for financial and non-financial data
- Secures financial information and keep sensitive data confidential
- Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures, complying with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Ensures continuity of duties by cross training other staff in vital areas of responsibility
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- Documents workflow and work procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, with a concentration in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 yrs. of Finance experience.
- Experience with SAP experience preferred.
- Experience with databases is a plus.
- Intermediate skills in MS Excel Required.
- Manufacturing experience a plus.
Salary : $72,000 - $80,000
