Key Responsibilities:
Tropicana Brands Group is looking for a highly qualified Associate Category Manager, Target to support the Category Management team to ensure the company’s goals and initiatives are met.
We are seeking candidates currently based in Greater Minneapolis/St Paul.
The Associate Category Manager will support the Tropicana Category Captain team. You will be an unbiased go-to resource for category and consumer trends, and merchandising solutions. You will support the POG development processes and execute analysis of markets, shoppers, and consumers that provide insight on performance, innovation, trends, and opportunities. This position requires both data and business savvy, with highly effective communication and problem-solving skills to provide best-in-class partnership to Target. Tropicana is looking for a critical thinker with exceptional communication, influencing and relationship management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide analytical support to category captain, buyer, and space planning team
- Manage customer planogram requirements, category updates, timelines, and implementations
- Collaborate with the customer and the captain regarding all aspects of category strategy development
- Execute planogram analysis leveraging JDA tables, formulas, highlights, charts, and labels
- Track performance and test & learn execution, provide report-outs to merchant
- Maintain all store and product attributes for categories
- Help prepare for and participate in all category captain meetings, including category reviews
- Assist with building POGs during revisions/transitions and provide guidance to the space team
- Manage ad hoc project requests and assignments
- Tackle ambiguous problems to determine and prioritize business strategies
- Demonstrated ability to implement short and long term strategies to support organizational operation and transformation
- Lead, influence, and collaborate across functions to drive results through formal and informal channels
Requirements:
- Must live in the Greater Minneapolis/St Paul area
- Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant work experience required
- Legally authorized to work in the country to which you are applying without requiring sponsorship or additional work permits now or in the future
- 3 years of Category Management/Insights/Analytics experience within the consumer packaged goods industry
- 3 years Space Management software (JDA, etc.) experience preferred
- Experience with Target’s systems, including POL, VIQ, CKS, and the Category Management Dashboard from DOMO
- Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and thought leadership skills
- Advanced skill set in Excel and PowerPoint, experience with PowerBI a plus
- Experience with standard data resources such as Syndicated POS and Panel (IRI, Nielsen, etc.)
- Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to interact confidently and effectively with management and retail customer
- Collaboration is essential in this role as the person will work very closely with cross-functional teams as well as the retailer directly
- Strong planning/organizing skills; ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
