Role Overview:
- Process Ownership & Optimization
- Serve as the champion and custodian of the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay process, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and standardization across all regions.
- Review and refine existing processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness across both internal teams and the BPO provider.
- Continuously assess, improve, and streamline processes through automation, simplification, and best practices, with a strong focus on process improvement
- Lead benchmarking activities and performance assessments, driving measurable process enhancements over time.
- Identify, design, and implement robotic process automation (RPA) and AI technologies to optimize AP operations.
- Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Oversee invoice processing, T&E report management, inquiry resolution, exception handling, payments processing, travel and P-Card administration, reporting, analytics, and vendor master data.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, compliance guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and enhance global Procure-to-Pay policies, procedures, and documentation to support evolving business needs and ERP enhancements.
- Leadership & People Management
- Directly manage and coach a team of AP professionals, ensuring continuous development, engagement, and high performance.
- Work closely with the BPO provider to ensure process alignment, performance optimization, and adherence to service-level agreements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation, providing strategic direction and operational oversight.
- Partner with HR and leadership teams to ensure proper selection, training, and development of talent.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with Procurement, IT, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to align PTP processes with broader business objectives.
- Partner with IT on ERP enhancement initiatives impacting PTP processes.
- Evaluate and report on the performance of the BPO provider, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring service-level commitments are met.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
- 8 years of relevant experience having designed and run Accounts Payable, Travel & Expense, and Vendor Master data management operations within a medium to large corporate setting.
- 5 years of management experience with direct team oversight, including coaching and mentoring staff.
- In-depth expertise in Procure-to-Pay best practices and experience managing processes in a BPO environment.
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4 Hana, Concur, and associated PTP automation tools.
- Experience in process improvement, automation (RPA, AI), and driving operational efficiencies.
- CPG or experience in a global, matrixed manufacturing organization preferred.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal controls.
- Hands-on, collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
