Key Responsibilities:
Tropicana Brands Group is seeking a highly qualified Senior Operations Manager to lead our chilled Direct Store Delivery (DSD) warehouse operations to ensure the company's goals and initiatives are met.
This role will be responsible for overseeing daily operational needs, ensure labor efficiency, meet key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintain the seamless flow of products throughout the supply chain. You will be responsible for managing union workforce operations, optimizing logistics, and maintaining relationships with Independent Operators (IOs) to drive both operational and commercial success. Tropicana is looking for a critical thinker with exceptional communication, influencing and relationship management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop labor schedules and optimize workforce planning to meet weekly operational demands.
- Conduct weekly and monthly performance reviews with shift managers, focusing on key operational metrics like labor costs, order accuracy, and delivery times.
- Lead monthly facility and equipment audits to ensure maintenance standards are met and operational downtime is minimized.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to optimize labor efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Provide coaching and development to shift managers and key personnel to enhance team performance and professional growth.
- Manage the operational budget, reviewing costs regularly to ensure alignment with the company’s financial targets.
Work Environment: This position will be primarily based in warehouse environments with occasional office work. Travel between Whitestone and Jersey City locations is required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience managing warehouse operations in a unionized environment.
- Proven leadership in managing multi-site, high-volume distribution centers with a focus on operational KPIs.
- Strong understanding of labor relations, particularly in union settings, and experience in managing HR-related matters.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and operational reporting tools.
- Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills, with the ability to multitask in a demanding environment.
- Effective communication and people skills to effectively manage cross-functional relationships and external stakeholders like Independent Operators (IOs).
Preferred:
- Experience with operational planning in a Food and Beverage environment.
- Strong knowledge of budget management and cost control in large-scale warehouse operations.
- Leadership skills to coach and mentor teams, with a focus on driving continuous improvement

The salary range for this position is $190,000 - $150,000 annually.
