Human Resources Generalist
Reporting to: Human Resources Manager
Location: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (HJAIA)
Atlanta, GA
General Responsibilities
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing the daily operations of the HR department. This includes overseeing recruitment, benefits administration, leave programs, employee relations, and compliance with company policies and legal regulations. The HR Generalist supports all HR functions, such as onboarding, training, workers' compensation, and performance management, and may supervise subordinate staff.
Major Responsibilities and Functions
- Policy Development and Compliance: Develop and update HR policies and procedures, maintaining the employee handbook and Policy Information Manual.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the recruitment process, including job description creation, interview coordination, and overseeing the onboarding process to ensure smooth integration of new hires.
- Benefits & Leave Administration: Coordinate benefits programs, including annual open enrollment, and manage leave programs (e.g., FMLA, ADA, Maternity leave).
- Workers' Compensation & Unemployment Management: Handle workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and manage unemployment hearings and appeals.
- Customs Badge Process: Oversee the Customs Badge Process, including monthly reporting and badge renewals.
- Employee Relations: Assist in resolving employee relations issues, including conducting disciplinary meetings and investigations.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Performance Management & Training: Support performance management systems and employee training programs to enhance skills and career growth.
- Organizational Structure: Assist in maintaining the organizational structure, including role definitions and reporting hierarchies.
Requirements

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of HR experience.
- SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated computer literacy.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels.
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all organizational levels.

Normal Working Hours
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
