If so, we want you to join our team as a Project Accountant! We’re looking for someone who can juggle invoices, contracts, and budgets with a smile and a sense of humor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create customer-specific invoices according to contract terms, values, and AR bill.
- Ensure proper document control for certificates of insurance, lien waivers, close-outs, and other required documents.
- Manage contract change order entry, updating contract value and cost estimate in ERP.
- Monitor and follow up on AR collections and report any delinquent accounts.
- Meet specified due dates for AR bills and collections, maintaining the AR aging report.
- Manage and provide support to subcontractors in the subcontractor portal and confirm relevant project access.
- Ensure proper document control for W9, certificates of insurance, and other required documents.
- Process subcontractor invoices within the specified timeframe and according to contract terms.
- Resolve job-related vendor invoice issues with 2- and 3-way PO matching.
- Track costs incurred on projects and adjusted cost estimates for accurate cost at complete estimate.
- Review AP invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Participate in Cost at Complete meetings, compiling data before and after, improving estimates of the project in real-time.
- Create the billing schedule of values for customers at the time of contract execution and obtain customer approval.
- Create a budget file for each project and import it into the accounting system. Complete the SOV and budget creation within the specified timeframe prior to the project mobilization date.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of construction accounting background in both A/R and A/P.
- Knowledge of percent completion (POC) revenue recognition method and job costing.
- Previous experience with AIA documents, Dynamics 365 – Business Central, and a fully integrated ERP system.
- Previous experience with GCPay, Procore, and Textura platforms.
- Previous experience with certified payroll is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Project Accountant or similar role.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software.
- Strong understanding of project accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational and document control skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
