Position Summary:
TCL is seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager of Emerging Categories (Portable Projectors, Soundbars and Gaming Monitors) to oversee and drive the growth of our consumer electronics portfolio, focusing on premium home entertainment and gaming products. This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of sales, operations, and team performance, while cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring the successful execution of our business objectives in the United States. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with deep industry knowledge in home theater systems, accessories, and gaming monitors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for TCL’s Emerging Categories' (Portable Projectors, Soundbars and Gaming Monitors) business to drive growth, market share, and product awareness in the United States.
- Provide strong leadership and vision to cross-functional teams in sales, marketing, operations, and customer service, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive activity within the home theater and gaming sectors to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.
2. Sales & Business Development
- Set and achieve aggressive sales targets, focusing on revenue growth and profitability in the home theater and gaming monitor categories.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, retailers, and partners in the US market.
- Oversee the development and execution of tailored sales strategies, including pricing, promotions, and go-to-market plans for both retail and online channels.
- Lead product launch initiatives and identify opportunities to expand product offerings to meet evolving customer needs.
3. Operations & Supply Chain Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless execution across supply chain, logistics, and inventory management to meet demand while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Streamline operational processes to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs while maintaining the highest product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with US regulatory requirements and internal policies, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to industry standards.
4. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of sales, marketing, and operational professionals dedicated to growing the Emerging Categories (Portable Projectors, Soundbars and Gaming Monitors) segment.
- Foster a collaborative and high-energy work environment that encourages professional development, innovation, and accountability.
- Drive team performance through regular feedback, coaching, and alignment with company values and goals.
5. Financial Management
- Manage the P&L for TCL's Emerging Categories (Portable Projectors, Soundbars and Gaming Monitors) , including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Regularly track financial performance, ensuring targets are met, and implement corrective actions as needed to improve profitability and growth.
- Work closely with the finance team to develop cost-effective strategies and investment plans that drive long-term success.
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Market Representation
- Act as the primary liaison between TCL US’s operations and the global headquarters, ensuring alignment on strategy, product initiatives, and operational execution.
- Represent TCL at industry trade shows, consumer electronics events, and key negotiations with strategic partners, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Act as a brand ambassador to increase awareness of TCL’s Emerging Categories' (Portable Projectors, Soundbars and Gaming Monitors) products, promoting the company’s innovations and vision.
Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is preferred.
2. Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in sales and operations management, with a focus on consumer electronics, specifically in home theater products, gaming monitors, or related accessories.
3. Proven Track Record: A demonstrated history of driving sales growth, managing P&L responsibilities, and successfully launching and growing product lines in a competitive market.
4. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
5. Excellent Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience negotiating and influencing key stakeholders.
6. Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the US consumer electronics market, including trends in home theater, gaming, and display technology, as well as knowledge of local regulations.
7. Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel as required for key meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
